There are several times a year that Scouts from Troop 404 gather and patrol peters road to pick up garbage and debris. This provides scouts with a way to accumulate service hours as well as build morale within the troop. This service time is needed to rank up in the scouting program many ranks require 2 or more hours of service. These service projects build morale within the troop while also teaching the scouts the value of keeping a community clean
