Immediately following our roadway clean-up (and required donuts) we headed to North Park to complete a 5 mile hike. We started at the Wisconsin Shelter and made our way down to the shelter by the ice rink to have a late lunch. Dr. D. gave us a course in choosing and cooking meals for hikes. He showed us how to prepare an instant chicken and rice meal using only boiling water and a zip lock bag. It actually tasted really good.
The hike was along a dirt path through hilly terrain. The trees were still bare from winter, so we were able to have a further line of site. This also allowed us to find wildlife, such as deer and squirrels, a lot easier.
